Angie is a mother, writer, and intermediate school teacher who is a self-confessed adrenaline addict. She was the President of Bookrapt for several years, and has produced dozens of children's books and School Journal stories. Angie has a passion for extreme sports, such as white-water rafting, bungy jumping, scuba diving and caving, and features many of these activities in her stories. She has also published over a hundred travel and adventure related articles for magazines in New Zealand and overseas. Angie often works in collaboration with her husband, internationally acclaimed underwater photographer Andy Belcher. She says, "My husband Andy and I love to go on adventures, such as skydiving, scuba diving, caving and kayaking. The children I taught loved to hear about our adventures. I thought that if they liked to hear about them, they might also enjoy reading about them so I started writing about our adventure sports. Before too long we began taking children away with us and writing and photographing their adventures. I have a passion for children and for adventure. Writing is the medium I use to bring them together. I want to show children that life can be really exciting. They just have to switch off the television, go outside and live it!"
